Best Things to Do in Fujairah
Fujairah Adventure Park
Fujairah Adventure Park is a hub for sports and outdoor lovers in the UAE. It offers hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking, archery and more in a scenic setting of mountains and water.
Adventure Park Fujairah is home to 20 kilometres of hiking trails with varying difficulty levels, 15 kilometres of mountain biking trails, and a unique asphalt pump track. Visitors can also enjoy wall climbing, kayaking, archery, axe-throwing, and the latest addition, a giant swing!
The park also offers a designated camping area with barbecue facilities and bonfire spots. Whether you’re looking for excitement or a peaceful retreat in nature, Fujairah Adventure Park has something for everyone, making it one of the best places to visit in Fujairah.
Scuba-diving at Dibba
Fujairah is a fantastic spot for scuba diving, with vibrant coral reefs and an array of marine life in the Gulf of Oman. Popular dive sites like Dibba Rock and Fujairah Snoopy Island offer chances to see turtles, reef sharks, and colourful fish, making each dive unique and one of the best things to do In Fujairah.
Several dive centres provide guided dives and PADI courses, perfect for both beginners and experienced divers and most can also provide equipment.

Dine at Umbrella Beach
Umbrella Beach in Fujairah has a wide range of restaurants, cafes and food trucks. Some open all day through to the evening while others open a bit later. Choose from Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, American, Fusion and more.
During the day, you can enjoy the view over the landscaped gardens and out to sea and at night, the fountains, walkways and garden lit up and, of course, the huge umbrellas!
I love the lively atmosphere, the murals depicting heritage scenes and the Jersey ice cream at Al Rumailah Farm.
Hiking
Fujairah offers some of the UAE’s best hiking spots and Fujairah Adventures has created trails for all levels. For families and beginners, trails like the Seven Summits or the Al Bidya Hiking Trail provide gentle terrain and great views. Popular family-friendly options with an element of nature also include Wadi Abadalah and Wadi Ghona, which offer scenic, manageable routes perfect for a relaxed day outdoors with younger ones.
More experienced hikers can take on challenging routes throughout the emirate, with options to go with friends or join either a paid or free group. The Fujairah hiking season runs from late October or November through to late March or early April. For more details on hiking routes across the UAE, check out my blog post, Hiking in the UAE.
Follow Al Bithna Heritage and Nature Trail
Just a few minutes from the fort is a short nature trail which will make a good stop-off with young ones (or old ones!). It’s just off the Masafi-Fujairah highway, so it’s one to combine with other activities on a day out.
Learn about the history of the area as well as local nature as you follow the loop around. It’s a gentle walk that anyone can do. You can also visit the fort or do the hike while you’re there too.
Go Deep-sea fishing
Fujairah is a top spot for deep-sea fishing and a number of operators offer private charters complete with equipment and experienced captains. The best season for fishing is October to May, when conditions are ideal.
Whether you’re an experienced angler or a beginner, deep-sea fishing in Fujairah promises an exciting day out on the water. Look out for operators such as Soolyman Sportfishing and Adventure Sports and Al Hamoor in Sambraid.

Dibba Mountain Park and Resort Activities
Dibba Mountain Park and Resort in Fujairah, between the dramatic Hajar Mountains and the Arabian Sea, is an ideal spot for both adventure and relaxation. It is also perfect for a halal or sober vacation.
The resort has a range of options, from cosy rooms to private chalets with pools, perfect for unwinding. For those looking for excitement, there’s zip-lining, archery, and even an obstacle course. They also have a restaurant and a sheesha lounge perched on a mountaintop. You don’t have to be a guest to use the facilities.
With its mix of natural beauty and outdoor activities, Dibba Mountain Park is a great choice for a weekend escape or just a visit on a day trip to Fujairah. Book Dibba Mountain Park and Resort.
Book a Vacation in Fujairah
Fujairah is a fabulous place for a few days away from busy life. You can choose to stay in the town to visit local attractions or use it as a base for exploring nearby areas outside the city. The Palace Resort gives you both the convenience of town and the luxury of a beach and sea or mountain view.
If you’d rather be away from the city, there are lots of great places to stay in Fujairah, including hotels, Airbnb apartments and even farms. Whenever I’ve stayed in a hotel in Fujairah, I’ve chosen to stay at Le Meridien Al Aqah, close to Dibba on the northern coast. It’s comfortable, has a great beach, pools, activities and good restaurants. Personally, I’ve always booked the deluxe room with a sea view but you can check out the other options too.
You can find lots of Airbnb-type places online or farm stays, mostly on Instagram, but some are also on booking platforms. I’ve stayed at Al Qalaa Lodge in Al Tayyibah a couple of times and loved its traditional feel and gorgeous views.
Take a look at the map below to find the best places to stay in Fujairah with availability and pricing.
Do a Fort Trail
Fujairah has many forts across the emirates, some going back thousands of years, some hundreds of years and some more recent. Start with Awhala Fort in the southern then drive up to Al Hayl Fort and old village. Next, head up to Fujairah Fort in the middle of the city.
From here, either head inland, stopping at Al Bithna Fort and onto Masafi Fort, or keep going north, stopping at Sakamkam Fort, Al Bidya Watchtowers and ending at Dibba Fort. If you’re heading back west after that, you could make a detour and add in Habhab Fort.
Off-roading in Fujairah
Fujairah is a fabulous place for off-roading in wadis, across plains, between and up mountains. The scenery is stunning with a variety of rock formations and colours. Look out for donkeys, goats and camels too and along the way and you might even see some beehives in some areas.
The eastern side of Fujairah is flanked by south Ras Al Khaimah and, in some parts, the Emirate of Sharjah, so you may find yourself going between the emirates. You’re unlikely to notice, and you’ll often not know for sure which emirate you’re in. One of my favourite areas for driving off-road is around Wadi Kub, Wadi Sidr, Wadi Asimah, Wadi Al Aim and Wadi Sena (a mix of Fujairah and RAK.)
Many of these tracks are also accessible for sedans as long as you don’t mind bumpy roads and the occasional bit of gravel flying around. It’s a decision everyone has to make for themselves. Do watch out if the track starts to narrow though as you may not be able to turn around. There are also many paved roads you can also drive on through the mountains.
A fairly easy route, which includes a gravel track and paved road and passes through Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, is from the Fujairah Highway towards Esfai, then across to the Kalba Rd S102. I have this route and some others on my Wikiloc.
Fujairah Camping
I like to be away from the crowds, so to me, the best camping in Fujairah is combined with off-roading to find remote, quiet spots but you can also find places not too far from the roadside and easily accessible for all vehicles, such as near Masafi and Awhala.
The most popular Fujairah camping spots though seem to be at the beach. Dibba Family Beach opposite Snoopy Island is the most popular but it can get a bit busy as places for beach camping in the UAE are becoming more restricted. The views are fabulous though with the Indian Ocean on one side and the Hajar mountains on the other and camping has to be one the best things to do in Fujairah for free!
Will you choose Fujairah beach camping or a more remote mountain spot?
Attend a Fujairah Event
Fujairah city often holds events, especially on Eid Al Ittihad (Union Day) and the other Eid holidays. These can include military parades, aerobatic shows, performances and street stalls. They’re usually held along Fujairah Corniche but you may find other events at Umbrella Beach and occasionally other locations.
Other events that take place include sports events like Fujairah Run and Tough Mudder, and Arabian Horse Championships. One I like to attend is the Arabian Horse Beauty Championship at Fujairah Fort. There are also occasional cultural events like art shows.
